Cool! Have a wonderful day. G Hi Vienna, Just wanted to let you know that my 16 year old daughter is named Vienna Rose as well. She was born in White Rock, British Columbia Canada. I had heard the name Vienna just before she was born and Rose just seemed to go well with it. All of her friends have always called her VeeVee June 28, 2008 Hello, I'm Vienna Lo Vance, and sometimes I find reality stranger than fiction. My birthday happens to be March 21. You all look happy and healthy and Vienna is a very pretty young lady. Hope you don't mind me checking your website. I rather enjoyed the jaw dropping experience of finding another Vienna Vance. God Bless! Vienna Oh man am I embarrassed. I just remembered I wrote to you years and years ago! Well, I had just had a baby with one on the way back then. Is that a good excuse for memory loss? LOL You all take care. - Vienna June 1, 2008 My name is Vienna Rose and I am 4 years old and live in Australia. I like your pictures. I like playing with dolls, bratz, littlest pet shop and little ponies. From Vienna Rose June 21, 2007 G'day from Australia. I am 12 weeks old and my name is Vienna Rose too. I was born in outback New South Wales, Australia. Mum and Dad chose my name as they thought it sounded strong, unique and pretty. They also spent some time in Vienna on their honeymoon. My mum has a European background so Vienna seemed like the perfect name. Nice to see that we both have such a lovely name. See you. Vienna. April 14, 2007 Hi there, My Name's Vienna Rose and I am from Cambridge, Ontario Canada. I can't believe that someone else in the world has the same name as I do, that's amazing! My dad and mom chose this name as it was unique and not many people had it. They heard a lady on the radio say her name and then that's how I got my name. All of my family loves it too, its a very girly name. I am turning 8 this year and go to elementary school. I am in grade 2 right now. I am an only child. Its' winter here right now and very cold outside. I am learning how to swim and can sing really well. What do you like to do? Please email me back if you can. Here's what I look like. Thanks... Vienna Rose Salokannel January 2007 Hi there! I just did a google search on my daughters name (Vienna Rose!) and found your site. I thought she was pretty unique with that name, I guess not, haha. My daughter’s B’day is June 12, 2006. We live in Queensland , Australia . We chose the name Vienna after going on a trip through Europe. We wanted to give our child a name that was pretty, interesting and unique. Vienna fits the bill perfectly! She didn’t have a middle name until 2 days after she was born, but I just loved the sound of Vienna Rose. Best wishes for the future! November 11, 2006 Hello, Greetings from Vienna Elyse Bible! She’s only 6 weeks old, and I was searching the internet for a rose bush called Vienna Maiden and stumbled across your website. Our Vienna ’s daddy lived in the city of Vienna for a while (his parents worked in churches over seas) and I fell in love with the idea of having Vienna for my daughters name, I’d never heard it before! It’s nice to see another Vienna or two are out there J We live in Oregon . Just wanted to say hello. (Vienna Bible’s mommy), September 23, 2006 I'm a Vienna Rose too, and I am 19 months old! I live in New Zealand with my Mummy and Daddy! We named Vienna after a grandmother - her name was Evianna - Greek, which the shortened name was Vienna - I imagine there are a few in the Greek communities through out the world (I know of 2 others in Wellington alone) - it just goes with Rose so well!!, Vienna Rose, September 4, 2006 Hello! We are planning to adopt a girl from China. I prefer the name Vienna Rae (my dad's name is Ray). I don't know how it popped into my head one day. I used to be Billy Joel's number one fan, so there may be a connection there. My wife hasn't warmed up to the name 100% yet, but it's our front runner at this point. 2nd is Zoe. I told my wife Vienna sounds nice, spelling it shouldn't be too hard for newcomers, and it's just different enough for our girl to feel unique without feeling weird. What have you found are the top advantages and disadvantages to having a child with that name? Has the "Vienna sausage" thing been an issue?, February 6, 2006 Hi! I visited your webpage and just wanted to say hi from one Vienna Rose to another. I'm 42 years old, married, with eight children ages 19 - 8, and I homeschool them. Have a good day! Vienna Marie Rose, September 8, 2003 Hello Vienna Rose, Thanks for writing! I wish my middle name was Rose! My parents just couldn't think of any name that went so well with Vienna, I guess your parents figured it out..with a last name like Blum, it would have sounded fab! I was named Vienna because of Billy Joel, but mostly because it could be pronounced in so many languages! My family speaks English, French and Spanish, my brother, Sascha and I were given "international" sounding names....Enjoy your Weekend miss "Vie", comme on dit en francais. By the way, I am 22 and have a boyfriend from Austria, go figure. Vienna Blum, May 24, 2003 So cool! I live in Montreal and only know Vienna's who were named after me! Including Donna Summer's grand daughter, whos a beautiful little Vie! PS. In French Vie means life, i thinks its a perfect nickname and is one of the reasons my parents picked the name. Vienna Blum, May 24, 2003 Hello V! I logged in to grab an updated picture for my web page (Vienna keeps getting more beautiful!) and noticed you're in San Diego! Cool -- We lived in Vista for 7 years. Really got spoiled there and miss it sometimes :) ! Hope all is well with the fam, Merry Christmas from The Vienna Rose Band! JK, December 14, 2001 We are The Vienna Rose Band and would love to be included on your site! Vienna Rose is my favorite name in the world -- As Vienna is a beautiful place and my favorite Billy Joel song, and Rose is my favorite flower and Grandmother's name. If you'd like to link us, our URL is www.viennarose.net We're a garage band just starting out, but hope you enjoy the music! Thanks JK, Vienna Rose Band, October 4, 2001 Since 1991 I have told my 2 daughters that whoever has a baby girl first will have to name her Vienna Rose for me (because I could not have anymore children). Vienna is my favorite Billy Joel song and Rose is my Grandmother's name, who passed away that year. I went in search of a website with that name only because I just couldn't wait until one of them had a child -- so I started a band and our name is The Vienna Rose Band. I was so surprised to see that someone else had that name! It's nice to know that there is a little one out there named Vienna Rose, and maybe someday you can place our URL on your webpage, we have www.viennarose.net when we get that up and running. You take care and many blessings your way! - JK, Vienna Rose Band, August 27, 2001 How did you choose your daughter's name? I have a 3 yr old named Vienna Rose! I was doing a search on the internet for her name, because I lost the URL to a website my family had made for her, and found your website. Do you call her V too? We call our daughter V or Weiner (LOL, ok, she won't let us call her Weiner anymore). I hope you get this email, because I'm very curious about how you chose the name! Here's a picture of our Vienna Rose... it's a bit grainy, but the most recent we have on the computer. I'd love to see another picture of your daughter, the one on the website is very cute! We came up with the name because my husband and I have always wanted to go to Vienna and also wanted a unique name. Rose is a family name for me too - I believe V is the 4th or 5th Rose in my family. Do you have any problems getting people to realize what her name is? I thought Vienna was easy to understand, but because it's different, people are constantly getting it wrong - she's usually called Deanne, or Deanna, or V-Anne by people hearing her name for the first time, so we almost always end up saying "like the City" or "like the sausage". We live about an hour outside of Reno, Nevada. Where do you live? Do you have any other kids with unique names, or are you planning to do unique names for future kids? We get a lot of compliments on V's name, but now that we have a second baby with a different name (Octavia Winter) we get strange looks when we tell both of their names. It's like people think it's neat to have one kid with a unique name, but two is bizarre. *smile* I don't have any stories that I can think of about Vienna's name - do you have any funny stories? - Guinevere, February 5, 2001 Dear Vienna Rose, I was goofing around on the web and found this website. I want you to know that I was shocked! My full name is Vienna Lo Vance and I was born March 21, 1973 at 1:10 pm. I have never ever met anyone with my same name before let alone my same last name, and nearly same birth date no less. My father Larry loved the city and the name so much he named me after it. I have yet to visit Vienna, Austria, but can't wait until I do. My husband and I are in the Marine Corp, and are sure to stop by Camp Pendleton one of these days. We have a one year old little boy named Noah and another on the way for 2001. Would they be nice playmates for you if we met some day? I think it is wonderful that your mommy and daddy will be taking you to so many place around the world. You need to stop at Vienna Cafe in Cairo, Egypt one day. They have the name "Vienna" spelled in English and Arabic. When you learn to write we can teach you how to spell your whole name in Arabic! I would give it to your mother now, but I don't know how to do that over the email. Well, thank you for the surprise. How did your mommy and daddy pick Vienna? Bless you little dove. - Vienna, October 16, 2000 Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Thank you very much for telling us that you named your first child after Vienna, the city. This is extremely touching for all of us since – as far as we know – it did not happen before. We know of no other person in the world to bear the first name Vienna. And we do not know other travellers to Vienna, our city, who love it so much that they use the name for their first child. Standing ovations to your daughter and to both of you!!! Thank you for the photos as well: She really is the cutest little person, and we wish you much luck and happiness with her all the time. May her childhood bring her peace, harmony, understanding, creativity, joyful learning and love, love, love ... That’s the main privilege you can give a child: to take it serious and to love it. It took some discussions, but with no result: What would be the right present of Vienna, the city, to Vienna, the baby? Let me pass this question over to you ... And another one, too: In 20 years, you write, „we’ll see who’s Vienna is prettier.“ Do you really want to wait that long before taking your daughter to good, old Vienna? We are sure some years earlier she would enjoy the city as much as both of you did when you visited it (whenever this has happened). We surely will try the mayor of Vienna to meet Vienna and her parents. Enjoy your Vienna while we are promoting ours. - Sincerely, Wolfgang J.
